Collections & Categories
How to organise your products into collections and categories so customers can browse and filter your catalog effectively.
Sellrn uses two organisational layers for products: categories (for navigation and filtering) and collections (for curated groups used on pages). A product can belong to multiple categories and collections.
Categories vs. collections

Creating a category
- Go to Dashboard → Products → Categories.
- Click New category.
- Enter a name (e.g. "Women's Shoes") and a slug (auto-generated).
- Optionally set a parent category to create a hierarchy (e.g. Women's → Shoes → Trainers).
- Upload a category image (shown on collection pages and in navigation mega-menus).
- Click Save.
Assigning products to categories
Open a product and scroll to Organisation → Categories. Select one or more categories. A product can be in multiple categories — for example, a red dress could belong to "Dresses", "New Arrivals", and "Sale" simultaneously.
Creating a collection
- Go to Dashboard → Products → Collections.
- Click New collection.
- Give it a title and description.
- Choose Manual (hand-pick specific products) or Automatic (products are added based on rules, e.g. tag = "summer" OR price < £50).
- Click Save.
Automatic collection rules
Automatic collections update in real time. When you add a new product that matches the rules, it appears in the collection immediately — no manual curation needed. Available rule conditions:
- Product tag (equals / contains)
- Product title (contains)
- Price (greater than / less than)
- Stock quantity (greater than / equals zero)
- Category (is / is not)
Combine rules with AND (all must match) or OR (any must match).
Showing collections on pages
In the Page Builder, add a Products brick and set its data source to a specific collection. The brick then shows only products from that collection. This is the primary way to feature collections on your homepage, landing pages, and category pages.
Category pages
Each category automatically gets a page at /c/category-slug that lists all products in that category with filtering and sorting controls. You can customise the layout of this page in the Page Builder under Pages → Category pages.
