Product Variants & Options
How to set up size, color, material, or any other option that creates multiple purchasable versions of a single product.
Variants let one product listing sell multiple versions — for example, a T-shirt in sizes S, M, L, XL and colors Black, White, and Navy. Each combination (e.g. "M / Black") becomes its own variant with its own price, SKU, and stock quantity.
Adding options to a product
- Open the product in Dashboard → Products.
- Scroll to the Variants section and click Add option.
- Enter an option name (e.g. "Size") and the values for that option (e.g. "S", "M", "L", "XL").
- Add a second option if needed (e.g. "Color" with values "Black", "White", "Navy").
- Click Done. Sellrn generates all combinations automatically (4 × 3 = 12 variants in this example).
Editing individual variants
After generating variants, a table appears listing every combination. For each variant you can set:

| Compare-at price | Strike-through price for sale display. |
| SKU | Stock-keeping unit for your internal tracking or warehouse integration. |
| Barcode | UPC, EAN, ISBN, or GTIN — used for POS and shipping integrations. |
| Quantity | Stock for this specific variant (if track inventory is enabled). |
| Image | Assign a product image to this variant so the storefront swaps images when the customer selects it. |
Variant images
To show a different image when a customer selects a color variant, click the image cell for that variant and choose from the product's uploaded images. The storefront's image gallery will automatically switch to the assigned image on selection.
Hiding unavailable variants
In Settings → Storefront, you can choose what happens when a variant is out of stock:
- Show as sold out — variant is visible but greyed out with a "Sold out" label.
- Hide — out-of-stock variants are not shown to customers.
- Allow backorders — customers can still purchase; you fulfill when stock is replenished.
Bulk editing variants
To update price or quantity across many variants at once, select the checkboxes on the left of the variant table, then use the Bulk edit toolbar that appears.
Adding a third option
Sellrn supports up to three option dimensions per product (e.g. Size, Color, Material). Click Add option again after the first two are saved.
