Stripe & Payments Setup
How to connect your Stripe account to Sellrn, test payments in sandbox mode, and go live to accept real transactions.
Sellrn uses Stripe as its payment processor. Connecting Stripe takes about two minutes and gives you a full checkout with card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and buy-now-pay-later options (depending on your country).
Connecting Stripe
- Go to Dashboard → Settings → Payments.
- Click Connect with Stripe.
- You will be redirected to Stripe to log in or create a new Stripe account. Follow the prompts to complete Stripe's onboarding.
- Once complete, you are redirected back to Sellrn with Stripe connected. A green "Connected" badge appears next to your Stripe account name.
Test mode vs. live mode
After connecting, Stripe starts in test mode. In test mode, no real money moves — you can place test orders to verify checkout works correctly.
To switch to live mode and accept real payments, go to Settings → Payments and toggle Switch to live mode. Stripe requires your account to be fully verified (identity and bank account) before live mode is enabled.
Test card numbers
Use these Stripe test card numbers to simulate different payment scenarios:
| Card number | Scenario |
|---|---|
4242 4242 4242 4242 | Successful payment |
4000 0025 0000 3155 | 3D Secure authentication required |
4000 0000 0000 9995 | Card declined (insufficient funds) |
Use any future expiry date, any 3-digit CVC, and any billing postcode for test cards.
Payment methods
Sellrn supports the following payment methods through Stripe (availability varies by country):
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
- Apple Pay and Google Pay (auto-enabled when Stripe is connected)
- Buy now, pay later (Klarna, Afterpay — where supported)
- iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit (Europe)
To enable or disable specific payment methods, go to your Stripe Dashboard → Payment methods.
Currency and tax
Your store currency is set in Settings → Store details. Tax rates are configured in Settings → Tax. Sellrn calculates tax at checkout based on the customer's shipping address and your configured rates, or you can use Stripe Tax for automatic rate lookup.
Payouts
Stripe pays out your balance to your connected bank account on your configured payout schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). Manage payouts and view your balance directly in the Stripe Dashboard.
