Discount codes let you offer customers a reduction on their order at checkout. Sellrn supports percentage discounts, fixed-amount discounts, and free shipping codes — each with optional usage limits, minimum order values, and expiry dates.

Creating a discount code

  1. Go to Dashboard → Discounts and click Create discount.
  2. Choose a discount type:
    • Percentage off — e.g. 20% off the order total.
    • Fixed amount off — e.g. £10 off the order total.
    • Free shipping — waives the shipping cost at checkout.
    • Buy X get Y — buy a quantity, get a free or discounted item.
  3. Enter a code (e.g. SUMMER20). Codes are case-insensitive. Click Generate for a random code.
  4. Set optional restrictions (see below).
  5. Click Save.

Discount restrictions

RestrictionWhat it does
Minimum order valueCode only applies when the cart total exceeds this amount (e.g. £50).
Minimum quantityCode only applies when the cart contains at least this many items.
Maximum usesThe total number of times this code can be redeemed across all customers.
One use per customerEach customer email can only use this code once.
Applies toEntire order, specific products, or specific collections.
Start / end dateCode is only valid between these dates. Leave end date blank for no expiry.

Automatic discounts

Automatic discounts apply to qualifying carts without requiring a code. They are useful for site-wide sales (e.g. "20% off everything this weekend"). Create them the same way as codes but leave the code field blank and toggle Apply automatically.

Only one automatic discount can be active at a time. If multiple rules qualify, the highest-value discount wins.

Stacking discounts

By default, customers can only apply one discount code per order. To allow a code to stack with an automatic discount, toggle Combinable when creating the code.

Viewing usage

Open a discount code to see how many times it has been used, total revenue attributed to it, and a list of orders that applied it. Export the usage data as CSV from the discount detail page.
